Product description:

ARDEX 7+8 consists of a solvent-free acrylic dispersion, ARDEX 8, and a reactive powder based on cements, additives and special fillers. For application of the product, both components are mixed together.

Substrate preparation:

Substrates must be firm, hard, dry and free of dust and other separating agents.

The following substrates are suitable: asphalt screeds, cement screeds, mortar plasters, lime plasters, gypsum plasterboards, insulation boards, fibre boards and building boards.

Gypsum plaster and render must be made in a single layer at least 10 mm thick and must not be felted or polished.

The ingress of rising damp through walls must be taken into account and remedied by using negative pressure waterproofing mortars (HUMISTOP N..).

Porous and gypsum substrates must be dry and treated with ARDEX P51 primer, diluted with water at a ratio of 1:3.

Mixing:

For filling holes and small voids mix to trowelable consistency.

If ARDEX SK100 waterproofing membrane is to be installedthen mix to consistency for adhesive application.

Mixing ratios:

For trowel application:

5.0 kg ARDEX 7 Reactive Powder

3.5 kg ARDEX 8 acrylic dispersion

For adhesive application:

5.00 kg ARDEX 7 reactive powder

4.25-5.00kg ARDEX 8 acrylic dispersion

Instructions for use:

Only material that can be applied within the pot-life of the product which is 60 minutes should be mixed. If the product starts to harden, ARDEX 8 should not be added again.

ARDEX 7+8 should be applied by 3x3x3 mm notched trowel, roller or brush, if the surface is very rough, a 4x4x4mm trowel can be used.

The open time of the product 15-20 min should be taken into account when calculating the maximum area of ARDEX SK100 or thin-bed porcelain stoneware to be laid.

The tiles should be pressed firmly to ensure full contact and to avoid air pockets. When installing ARDEX SK 100 membranes, follow the installation instructions in the technical data sheet.

Overlaps of the sheets:

ARDEX 7+8 is applied with a 3x3x3 mm notched trowel, or roller or brush in the overlap area. The next sheet is placed on the fresh mortar bed both on the substrate and in the overlap area.

The joints between floors and walls are to be reinforced with ARDEX SK12 strips. Pipes and drains are to be reinforced with ARDEX SK-W and ARDEX SK-F reinforcements.

ARDEX 7+8 can be applied at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. It should be noted that high temperatures shorten the open time and low temperatures lengthen the open time.

Note: The trowelable consistency is suitable for filling holes and voids.

Precautions:

ARDEX 7, reactive powder, contains cement. Irritating to eyes and skin. ARDEX 8 contains a mixture of 5-chloro-2-methyl-isothiazolinone and 2-methylisothiazolin-3-one (3:1). May cause allergic reactions. Causes skin irritation. May cause serious eye damage. Keep out of the reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of contact lens wearer, remove contact lenses and continue rinsing.

Wear suitable protective gloves. Wash contaminated skin with soap and water.

In its set state it is physiologically and ecologically harmless. Disposal of waste and empty containers must be in accordance with local/regional/national/international legislation.
