Description:

ARDEX SK 100 W is made of a double-sided polypropylene fabric coated with a polyethylene film.

Substrate preparation:

The substrate must be dry, firm, must be load-bearing and must be free of dust and agents that hinder adhesion. It must also be suitable for the installation of tiles.

The subfloor must be sufficiently level to achieve a void-free installation of the membrane under the membrane.

If levelling work on walls and floors is necessary, products from the ARDEX range (ARDEX A46, ARDEX AM100, ARDEX F5...) should be used for this purpose. If necessary, primers from the ARDEX range will be used to finish preparing the substrates.

Instructions for use:

If necessary the substrates shall be primed with the appropriate primer from the ARDEX range (see Technical Data Sheets).

To adhere the ARDEX SK100W membrane, use ARDEX 7+8 waterproof adhesive.

The sheets are cut prior to installation using scissors or a knife.

Once cut, the sheets are installed by applying ARDEX 7+8 to the substrate with a 3x3x3 mm notched trowel (if the substrate is rougher, a 4x4x4 mm notched trowel can be used).

The sheets are laid by pressing them firmly with the smooth side of the trowel on the wet adhesive bed, special care should be taken to avoid leaving bubbles under the sheet when laying.

It is recommended to start pressing from the centre of the sheet towards the ends of the sheet.

The sheets can be laid end-to-end or overlapping.

Overlapped:

ARDEX 7 + 8 is applied with a 3x3x3 mm trowel on the substrate and on the upper side of the ends of the sheet in an area at least 5 cm wide. If the full width of the sheet is required, it has a mark 6 cm from the end to facilitate this operation.

The sheet to be installed is placed on the area that has the ARDEX 7+8 adhesive on its upper face, thus overlapping with the one already installed.

Side-by-side installation:

Once two sheets have been laid next to each other over the joint, the joint is reinforced by means of the ARDEX SK12 strip, which is adhered to using the ARDEX 7+8 adhesive (applied with a 3x3x3 mm notched trowel).

Special care must be taken to avoid bubble formation under the ARDEX SK12 strip. Corners should be reinforced in the same way with suitable ARDEX TRICOM accessories.

Pipe connections are made using ARDEX CA20P assembly adhesive.

Subsequently, the corresponding reinforcement will be glued using ARDEX 7+8 adhesive.

Tile installation:

Tile installation is possible when the membrane has been laid, on floors, you must wait for the hardening of the ARDEX 7+8 adhesive (about 2 hours).

Please note:

High temperatures shorten and low temperatures lengthen the installation time of the waterproofing system.

The system can be installed at temperatures above +5°C and below +30°C.

The use of ARDEX SK100 does not replace waterproofing work in accordance with DIN 18195.

In case of doubt, test areas should be carried out.
