HUMISTOP PLUG - Ultra rapid setting hydraulic sealing mortar

Field of application:

Ultra-fast setting hydraulic mortar excellent for instant sealing of waterways in solid substrates. Suitable for carrying out urgent repairs to water pipes, even if they are under load. Sealing between slab and wall (by means of a chase and a half-round finish). Can be used for emergency repairs to leaks. Can be used for quick anchoring of bolts and fittings. Preliminary work prior to waterproofing in basements.

Properties:

Instant-setting hydraulic cement mortar formulated to plug waterways in concrete, cement and other substrates.

It starts to set in a few seconds and after 3-4 minutes it is completely set.

It does not shrink, expands slightly and permanently seals the water passage. It sets even under water. Its mechanical properties make it similar to concrete. It does not contain chlorides and is non-toxic in contact with drinking water.

Instructions for use:

Prior to laying HUMISTOP PLUG, the substrate should be prepared as appropriate:

Point waterways.

The points where the waterway to be sealed appears must have a minimum depth of 4 cm and a width of 3 or 4 cm. A dovetail or square cut will be made and the remains of the material will be cleaned.

Cracks or joints.

In the case of leaks in joints or cracks, these will be deepened up to 5 cm and the pieces of mortar or concrete that are loose and in poor condition will be cleaned up.

Slab-wall joints.

When what is to be sealed are the joints between the slab and the wall, a 2 x 3 cm perimeter cut will be made.

Once the substrate has been prepared, moisten to saturation, but avoid puddling.

Knead the amount of HUMISTOP PLUG that can be applied in 3 minutes and by hand. Use a plastic container, pour in the water and add the HUMISTOP PLUG to a paste-like consistency of cementitious mortar (for 1 kg of powder approx. 0.28 litres water). To seal leaks, take the material in your hand (wearing a protective glove) and apply it to the prepared hole by gently pressing it in. Keep pressing for 2 to 3 minutes until you feel it heat up and harden. When you want to plug cracks, start at the top of the crack, knead a small amount of HUMISTOP PLUG, shape it and wait until it starts to harden. At this point it is introduced into the crack and wait about 2 minutes until it warms up, remove the excess, level it off and continue down the crack kneading another small amount. In the case of cracks with a lot of water pressure, the same action is taken, but leaving a small final drain to relieve pressure and allow the HUMISTOP PLUG to harden sufficiently. Once the material has hardened, the drain is plugged for final sealing of the crack. In the case of joints between slab and wall, the previously made groove will be filled, giving a half-round finish.

Do not apply at temperatures below 5ºC or above 30ºC.

The curing of HUMISTOP PLUG is expected to take between 3 and 5 minutes at approx. 20ºC. At high temperatures cold water should be used to prevent HUMISTOP PLUG from setting too quickly. In very cold conditions, on the contrary, warm water should be used to favour the setting of the HUMISTOP PLUG.

Precautions:

Contains cement, irritating to eyes and skin. Use suitable means of protection. Once dry, it has no physiological or ecological alterations.
