Field of application:
Self-levelling mortar for covering, levelling and levelling concrete, anhydrite or any other material floors, serving as a support for adhering ceramic pieces or light coatings.
It can be used as a support for bonding ceramic tiles or light coatings.
This levelling paste can be applied by pump, it does not crack even when applied in thick layers.
For interior use.
Composition:
Grey powder with special cements and synthetic materials with good dispersibility.
When mixed with water, a smooth, self-levelling, pumpable mortar is obtained. It can be worked for 30 min. and can be walked on in 3 hours.
The mortar hardens by hydration and dries quickly without shrinkage, avoiding the appearance of cracks, even in thick layers.
Preparation of substrates:
ARDEX K14 MIX with a temperature of 18°C - 20°C can be walked on after 3 hours.
Subsequent applications of the same product should be carried out immediately after the application time by priming with a coat of ARDEX P51 diluted with water 1:3.
Coats of ARDEX K14 MIX dry and harden quickly. For thicknesses up to 10 mm the ARDEX K14 MIX surface can be coated after 24 h (20°C). For thick layers, the drying time is 2 days.
Work ARDEX K14 MIX at temperatures above +5°C and below +30°C.
Protect the surface from sunlight and draughts to prevent it from drying too quickly.
ARDEX K14 MIX is not suitable for outdoor applications or substrates that are constantly exposed to moisture.
The substrate must be dry, clean, compact, rough, free of dust and other friable elements or separating agents.
To avoid the appearance of air bubbles and to improve adhesion on porous substrates, the substrate must be prepared with Ardex P51, primer diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio.
In case of doubt, carry out a preliminary test.
Precautions:
Contains cement, alkaline reaction, therefore protect eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with water and consult a doctor.
Once dry, does not affect physiologically and ecologically.
GISCODE ZP1= Product containing chromate poor cement.
Instructions for use:
Pour clear water into a clean container and mix, stirring vigorously, the powder until a fluid mortar without lumps is obtained.
The mixing ratio is 3 3/4 - 4 l. per 25 kg.
The mortar can be worked for about 30 min. at a temperature of 18°C - 20°C.
Lower temperatures extend the working time and higher temperatures shorten the working time.
The mortar spreads easily. It can be applied with a spreader or a smoothing trowel.
With ARDEX K14 MIX, irregularities can be easily filled and it is so fluid that subsequent sanding treatment is generally not necessary.
Layer thicknesses:
On concrete floors, cement screeds and smooth non-porous substrates, to which a bonding bridge based on sandblasted ARDEX EP2000 has been applied, a layer thickness from 8 to 50 mm of ARDEX K14 MIX can be applied.
If maximum flatness is required in thicknesses greater than 25 mm, it is recommended that the work be carried out in two stages, applying a first filler coat with ARDEX K14 MIX, and a second coat with ARDEX K14, primed with ARDEX P51 (diluted 1:3 with water) between coats.
On large surfaces, it can be applied using cylindrical or helical pumps capable of ejecting 20-40 litres of mortar per minute. Before pumping ARDEX K14 MIX, the pipes and ducts should be lubricated by mixing 25 kg of ARDEX K14 MIX and approximately 4 litres of water.
Do not use cement slurry for lubrication.
If a pumping stoppage of more than 30 min. is required, the ducts as well as the pump will have to be cleaned.
