Field of application:
For coating, levelling and levelling concrete, anhydrite or any other material floors, serving as a support for adhering all types of ceramic pieces or light coatings.
The levelling paste or levelling mortar can be applied by pump, it does not crack even if applied in thick layers.
For interiors.
Composition:
Grey powder with special cements and synthetic materials with good dispersibility.
Mixed with water it results in a smooth, very fluid mortar with self-levelling properties, ideal for service or levelling applications. Pumpable. Can be worked for 30 minutes and can be walked on after 3 hours.
The mortar hardens by hydration and dries quickly in an almost tension-free mass, so that a crack, even in layers of
that cracking, even in very thick layers, is practically impossible.
Substrate preparation:
The substrate must be dry, hard, solid, solid, rough and free of disintegrable elements for applications of self-levelling mortars.
To avoid the appearance of air bubbles and to improve adhesion on porous substrates, they must be prepared with Ardex P51, primer diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio.
In case of doubt, carry out a preliminary test.
Instructions for use:
Pour clear water into a clean container and mix, stirring vigorously, the powder until a fluid mortar without lumps is obtained.
Approximately 5 3/4 litres of water are required to mix 25 kg of ARDEX K14 powder.
The mortar can be worked for approx. 1/2 hour at a temperature of 18°C - 20°C.
Lower temperatures extend the working time, higher temperatures shorten the working time.
ARDEX K14 is easy to fill irregularities and is so fluid that it is generally almost not necessary to
sanding treatment is generally not necessary.
For levelling and applying thin layers, the mortar is spread with a trowel or spreader trowel, levelled and smoothed by itself.
On non-porous substrates, apply at least a 1.5 mm layer.
On mastic asphalt screeds of hardness GE10 and GE15, ARDEX K14 can be applied up to a maximum thickness of 5 mm.
thickness. In case of making layers between 5 and 20 mm, ARDEX K 14 should be elongated with sand and mixed with ARDEX E25, synthetic resin in dispersion, diluted 1:2.5 with water.
Pumping:
On large surfaces, it can be applied using cylindrical or helical pumps capable of ejecting 20-40 litres of mortar per minute. Before pumping ARDEX K14, mixed with sand,
the pipes and ducts need to be lubricated by mixing 25 kg of ARDEX K14 with approximately 5 3/4 litres of water.
Do not use cement slurry for lubrication.
If a pumping stoppage of more than 30 minutes is required, the ducts will have to be cleaned as well as the pump itself.
Mortar application:
ARDEX K14 mortar can be applied in a single pass, in layered constructions up to 0 to 10 mm thick.
For layers thicker than 10 mm it can be elongated as follows:
General rule:
ARDEX K14 at a temperature of 18°C - 20°C can be applied after 3 hours.
Subsequent applications are to be carried out immediately after the application time.
Prior to subsequent applications, when the ARDEX K14 surface is dry, a pre-priming coat of ARDEX P51 diluted with water 1:3 must be applied.
Coats of ARDEX K14 dry and harden quickly. For thicknesses up to 10 mm, the ARDEX K14 surface can be coated within 24 hours (at 20°C). For thicker layers, the drying time is 2 days.
Work ARDEX K14 at temperatures above +5°C and below +30°C.
Protect the surface from sunlight and draughts to prevent it from drying too quickly.
ARDEX K14 is not suitable for exterior applications or substrates constantly subjected to humidity.
Caution:
Contains cement, alkaline reaction, therefore protect eyes and skin. In case of contact, rinse immediately with water. In case of contact with eyes, consult a doctor.
Once dry, does not affect physiologically and ecologically.
