  • Highly resistant.
  • Quick to put into service.

Field of application:

Levelling and renovation of concrete floors, cement and anhydrite screeds, ceramic, non-ceramic and other coverings.

Creation of screeds in industrial and commercial sectors, sealed with ARDEX paints and varnishes, subjected to light or heavy traffic.

Creation of surfaces for the laying of ceramic tiles, natural stone and other coverings. In interiors only.

Characteristics:

Powder based on special cements and plasticisers with good dispersibility and special fillers. When mixed with water, a smooth, self-levelling and pumpable mortar is obtained. It can be worked for 1/2 hour and can be walked on after 3 hours.

The mortar dries and hardens by hydration, without shrinkage, avoiding the appearance of cracks.

Substrate preparation:

The substrate must be dry, clean, compact, free of dust and separating agents.

Before mechanical preparation, varnish, wax, grease, oil and similar contaminants must be removed. Contaminated concrete surfaces must be treated mechanically, either by sanding, diamond grinding, shot blasting or sandblasting, followed by vacuuming.

Any joints or cracks in the concrete substrate where differential movement is expected, e.g. expansion joints, must be raised to the finished surface and sealed appropriately.

The substrate must have a tensile strength of more than 1.5 N/mm2.

To avoid the appearance of air bubbles and to improve adhesion on porous substrates, these must be prepared with Ardex P51, primer diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio. This coat should be applied over the entire surface using an industrial broom. No rollers, mops or spray equipment should be used in its application. Care should be taken not to leave puddles, if any, they should be removed by broom or brush. Once ARDEX P51 has been applied, it must be allowed to dry for at least 1 hour before ADICEM SF is applied.

Highly absorbent substrates will require the application of two coats of ARDEX P51 to avoid the appearance of bubbles or craters. A first coat of ARDEX P51 diluted 1:3 with water should be applied. Once the first coat is dry (min. 1 hour) a second coat diluted 1:1 with water can be applied. Once the last coat of ARDEX P51 has been applied, it must be allowed to dry for at least 1 hour before ADICEM SF is applied.

On dense or slightly porous substrates, prime with ARDEX epoxy primers sandblasted to saturation. (see corresponding technical data sheet). The substrate must always remain dry .

Instructions for use:

Pour clean water into a clean container and add the powder, stirring vigorously with a stirrer, until a homogeneous, fluid mortar is obtained.

The mixing ratio is 5 ¼ - 5 ½ l. per 25 kg.

The mortar can be worked for approx. 1/2 hour at temperatures between 18-20°C.

Low temperatures extend and high temperatures reduce the working time.

The mortar is easily spread by means of a spreader skid and smoothed with a smoothing trowel.

Layer thicknesses:

On concrete screeds, cement screeds and smooth non-porous substrates, to which a sandblasted epoxy resin based bonding bridge has been applied, a layer thickness of up to 50 mm of ADICEM SF (lengthening with sand up to 30%) can be applied.

On anhydrite substrates (prepared according to BEB data sheet) a continuous layer of ADICEM SF up to 10 mm thick can be applied. For thicknesses above 10 mm up to a maximum of 20 mm the ADICEM SF must be extended with sand.

Work ADICEM SF at temperatures above +5°C and below +30°C. The surface layer must be protected from drying too quickly due to the action of the sun and draughts.

Small works:

Pour 10.5 to 11 litres of clean water into a container with a capacity of about 50 litres. With the aid of an electric mixer, mix 50 kg=2 bags of ADICEM SF until a homogeneous, lump-free mortar is obtained.

Large building sites:

For pumping the mortar, helicoidal, cylindrical or continuous pumps capable of pumping 20-40 l. of mortar per minute are suitable.

If elongated mortar with sand is applied, the hoses should be lubricated with a mixture of 1 sack of ADICEM SF and 8 l. of water. The use of cement slurry is prohibited for the lubrication of the hoses.

The machine and hoses must be washed out if they are not used for more than 1/2 hour.

Recommendations:

If more than one coat of ADICEM SF is to be made, the dry mortar coat shall be primed with ARDEX P51 diluted 1:3 with water to avoid bubble rise.

ADICEM SF must not be used outdoors or in constantly wet areas.

Caution:

Contains cement. Reacts alkaline. Protect skin and eyes.

In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with water and consult a doctor.

After drying the product is physiologically and ecologically harmless.

GISCODE ZP 1 = contains cement, low in chromate.
