Product description:

Powder with grey coloured cement, fillers, synthetic resins and selected additives.

When mixed with water the result is a soft mortar that hardens by hydration and drying.

It is waterproof and weather resistant in a few days. It adheres perfectly on any substrate, such as concrete, cement screeds, anhydrite screeds, plaster, plaster, masonry and similar substrates, creating a firm bond between the different building materials.

Substrate preparation:

ARDEX X7G FLEX adheres on both dry and damp substrates but these must be firm, resistant, grippy and free of separating agents.

Porous and gypsum substrates must be dry and treated with ARDEX P51 primer diluted 1:3 with water. Gypsum plaster and render must be applied in a single coat at least 10 mm thick and must not be felted or polished.

Non-porous substrates such as ceramics, metal, glass, varnish coatings, etc. must be primed with ARDEX P82 in interiors and in dry areas. For exterior applications over existing tiles, the tiles must be primed with ARDEX P4.

In areas with dampness (bathrooms, kitchens, shower trays, etc.) or outdoors (terraces, balconies, etc.), we recommend the use of ARDEX 8+9 waterproofing membrane.

Instructions for use:

Pour clean water into a mixing container and add the ARDEX X7G FLEX powder, stirring vigorously until a flexible, homogeneous, lump-free mortar is obtained. To improve flexibility and full contact with the workpiece, the mortar should be stirred again before application on the substrate.

Amount of water required for mixing:

ARDEX X7G FLEX : 8 l of water per 25 kg bag.

At a temperature of 20°C, the mortar is workable for approximately 5 hours.

If ARDEX E90 improver admixture is added, proceed as follows:

First mix ARDEX E90 with water (1:1). The mixing ratio is:

25 kg ARDEX X7G FLEX : 4.5 kg ARDEX E90 : 4.5 kg Water.

The viscosity of the mortar can be modified by increasing or decreasing the amount of water in the mixture.

Apply the mortar on the substrate and comb it with a notched trowel vertically. The choice of trowel depends on the surface of the substrate and the type and size of the workpiece. In the case of surfaces that have to support high loads, it is advisable to apply it using the double-gluing method in order to achieve the most complete wetting possible.

The working area should not be larger than that which allows the workpieces to be placed on a damp bed for 10 minutes.

For levelling and preparing rough and uneven substrates, as well as for laying strongly profiled tiles or natural stone slabs with different thicknesses on a thick mortar bed, ARDEX X7G FLEX can be extended with sand with a grain size of 0-1 mm, according to the following ratio:

1 part ARDEX X7G FLEX : 0.3 -0.4 parts sand.

To protect against moisture, e.g. on facades, prepare the substrate with ARDEX X7G FLEX+ARDEX E90 in a layer at least 3 mm thick.

When fixing the insulation boards, the mortar should be applied from behind in strips or in spots.

If the boards are not porous, they must first be trowelled.

In case of doubt, carry out a test beforehand.

Work ARDEX X7G FLEX at temperatures above +5°C and below +30°C.

Recommendations:

For interior installation of water-sensitive natural stone, especially for the installation of light and translucent marble, we recommend the application of ARDEX N23 or ARDEX S27W to prevent staining of the workpiece.

ARDEX WA, both in adhesive and grout, is recommended when resistance to chemicals and aggressive cleaning is required, e.g.: swimming pools, spas, food industry, tanks, etc.

For laying large format pieces and natural stone on facades it is advisable to apply ARDEX X77, special flexible adhesive C2TES1.

Precautions:

Contains cement. Irritating to eyes and skin. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid any contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable protective gloves. In set state is physiologically and ecologically harmless.

GISCODE ZP1 = product containing cement, low chromate content.
