Field of application:
For interiors and exteriors, walls and floors.
Levelling, repairing and restoring substrates made of:
- - Concrete
- - Masonry (except aerated concrete)
- - Plastering of the mortar groups P II and P III
Preparation of slope compensation layers and separation of concrete and cement screeds for the subsequent laying of tiles.
Bonding and grouting construction panels, rigid foam insulation panels, with mortar coating on both sides.
Regularisation of vertical surfaces that require large thicknesses before applying the final layer of mortar.
Application as a background for planimetry of great thickness for later sgraffito work.
Product description:
Cement-based grey powder with selected additives and special resins in dispersion which, when mixed with water, produces a flexible and stable mortar that facilitates application in both thick and thin layers, without tension or cracks. This mortar sets after approximately 1 hour.
The set layers are permeable to evaporation.
It maintains its properties even in adverse weather conditions, in very humid areas and even under water.
Preparation of the substrate:
The substrate may be dry or damp, but it must be adherent, solid, free of release agents and load bearing. Insufficiently solid surfaces, poorly adhering plaster, old wallpaper and old paints must be removed. Smooth concrete surfaces (with sintering film) have to be sandblasted or shot blasted.
Instructions for use:
Fill a clean bucket with clear water and, stirring vigorously, add as much powder as necessary until a flexible, lump-free and stable mortar is produced.
Mixing should be done properly with a forced circulation mixer, or inside a feed barrel, using a basket agitator or a helical basket agitator (e.g. Collomix WK 135).
For mixing 25 kg of ARDEX AM 100 powder, approximately 5.5 l of water is required. - 6.25 l of water.
Only the usable material should be prepared within 30 to 40 minutes.
After a maturation time of approx. 3 minutes, stir again. The mortar can be applied for 30 - 40 minutes at a temperature of 20°C and a layer thickness of up to 30 mm can be applied at the same time. ARDEX AM 100 sets by hydration and dries after approx. 1 hour to such an extent that further processing is possible, e.g.
polishing with felt wheels, grinding or subsequent smoothing. After about 2 hours, the setting has developed to such an extent that tiling with tiles is possible.
The mortar should first be applied to the surface in a thin layer and then scraped off with the smoothing trowel to improve the adhesion of the ARDEX AM 100.
The mortar is then immediately applied to the required thickness. The mortar can be applied by smoothing with a trowel or by throwing it against the surface and spreading it with the levelling screed.
Temperatures above 20°C shorten the setting time and lower temperatures lengthen the setting time.
In case of doubt, it is recommended to carry out a test surface.
ARDEX AM 100 is to be applied at temperatures above 5°C and interiors at +30°C.
Recommendations:
Substrates with different moisture contents can lead to colour differences in cement-based sealing mortars.
Levelling coats must be protected to avoid excessive rapid drying.
Ceramic tiles can be laid after about 2 hours. When laying natural stone cladding, wait until the levelling layer has dried, as they are sensitive to moisture.
Sealing with sealing compounds can be carried out after the surface has dried.
ARDEX AM 100 can be laid in swimming pools, but not in medicinal, thermal or saline baths.
Caution:
Contains cement.
Irritating to eyes and skin. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly and seek medical advice immediately. Wear suitable protective gloves.
When set, the product is physiologically and ecologically harmless.
GISCODE ZP 1 = product with cement content, low in chrome.
