Field of application:

Walls and ceilings. Interior and exterior.

Filling of cavities, holes, irregularities, grooves, restoration of facades, walls and ceilings as well as smoothing of interior walls and ceilings prior to the application of dispersion paints, mineral plasters, silicone and silicate paints, varnishing and plastering techniques.

For restoring class A1 and A2 cracks, according to guideline 19 BFS.

Product description:

White powder with special hydraulic binders, resin powders and selected fillers, Microtec® fibres and special additives.

Substrate preparation:

The substrate, e.g. cement plaster, lime plaster, concrete, masonry brickwork, tiles, tiles (vitrified surfaces must be roughened), dispersion paints, and mineral plasters... must be dry, firm, resistant and free of dust and other materials detrimental to adhesion.

Elastic or vitrified coatings, as well as peeling paint or wallpaper, must be removed.

Primers are not necessary.

Instructions for use:

Pour clean water into a mixing container and, while stirring vigorously, add and mix as much powder as necessary to obtain a lump-free mixture.

Approximately 12.5 litres of water are required to mix 25 kg of ARDEX F5 powder.

Approximately 2.5 litres of water are required to mix 5 kg of ARDEX F5 powder.

At a temperature of +18°C to 20°C the mortar has a setting time of approx. 30 minutes, and can be applied immediately to any required thickness.

After approx. 40 minutes after the coat has been applied, subsequent smoothing should be carried out for approx. 20 minutes.

The application time, hardening time and the time to start subsequent treatments depend on the thickness of the applied layer, the temperature and the exposure to sunlight. High temperatures shorten the application time and low temperatures lengthen the application time.

ARDEX F5 can be mixed with dry sand for filling cavities and cracks and for sculpting rough substrates. The mixing ratio should be 1 vol. compound : 0.3 vol. sand. Do not add more water.

In case of doubt, make a test. ARDEX F5 must be worked at temperatures above +5°C and below +30°C, both indoors and outdoors.

Crack repair:

For repairing surface cracks of class A1 type, up to cracks transferred to plaster, type A2.

ARDEX F5 should be applied with a smoothing trowel. The mortar should then be applied with a notched trowel to incorporate the reinforcing mesh.

The second coat should be applied fresh on fresh (when the first coat is still wet).

Post-treatment:

After 1 day, when the 10 mm thick applied coat is dry, subsequent paint or plaster systems can be applied. For thicknesses greater than 10 mm, the drying time shall be 2 or 3 days.

For patch repairs, observe the porosity and alkalinity of the substrate. Follow the instructions of the paint and plaster suppliers.

Please note:

For thicker coats, e.g.: filling of cavities and cracks that must be dry after one day, we recommend using ARDEX F3 filling compound. After a sufficient drying time of approx. 90 minutes, these areas can be worked over with ARDEX F5.

Warning:

Contains cement, reacts alkaline - therefore protect skin and eyes. In case of contact, wash affected parts thoroughly with water. In case of contact with eyes, also consult a doctor.

Wear appropriate protective equipment, such as safety goggles.

Physiologically and ecologically harmless in solidified state.

GISCODE ZP1 = product containing cement, with low chromate content.
