Description:

ARDEX R15 P is a solvent-free, low viscosity, solvent-free repair material to be applied as a sealant on polyurethane floors.

as a sealant on polyurethane floor coverings, such as ARDEX R90 P. Component A is a white, low viscosity liquid. Component B is a brown, low viscosity liquid. Component C is a pigmented powder.

ARDEX R15 P can be used for repairs and other applications where a thin film is required to improve the final appearance of the pavement and its cleanliness. ARDEX R15 P is suitable for linear marking applications on Polyurethane-cement pavements, such as ARDEX R90P.

Substrate preparation:

All substrates must be clean and free of dust and other disintegrable particles. Any remaining contaminants, such as oil, grease, paint, chemical agents, etc., must be removed to prevent them from impairing adhesion to the substrate.

A good preparation of the substrate is essential to ensure the success of the application and the good performance of the ARDEX R15 P product.

ARDEX R15 P is applied on existing polyurethane-cement screeds, so the preparation techniques applied will depend on the condition of the substrate. If the substrate is only 48 hours old, ARDEX R15 P can be applied directly, removing only dust and surface contaminants. Older screeds, should be subjected to sanding or shot blasting treatments and cleaning with alkaline detergents.

Instructions for use:

Pour components A and B into a container and mix with an electric agitator for 30 seconds, until a homogeneous product is obtained. Add component C and shake vigorously for 1 min until a smooth consistency is obtained.

The mixed material should be applied without delay to the substrate with a brush, roller or rubber trowel, depending on the required finish and thickness. Apply an aggregate seed, if an anti-slip finish is required.

If applied to reduce texture on an existing pavement, care should be taken to achieve the required thickness, finish and final uniformity.

For crack repairs, pour to full coverage, trowel up to 5 mm and in areas of isolation, up to 10 mm wide. If repairs are wider than this, it is recommended to add aggregate to the mix. Once the repair has been made, surface coat with ARDEX R15P.

Limitations:

Apply ARDEX R15 P at temperatures above +10°C and below +30°C, and with relative humidity below 90%. Do not apply if condensation may occur before the ARDEX R15P has fully cured.

Workability time is approx. 10 min. If applied beyond this time, an uneven finish may result.

Tool cleaning:

ARDEX R15 P is easily cleaned after use, using the biodegradable ARDEX RTC cleaner.

Once the product has hardened, it can only be removed mechanically.

Colours:

ARDEX R15 P is available in 6 standard colours: green, grey, orange, red, cream and yellow.

Other colours are subject to special order.

Polyurethane-cement screeds are specially formulated to maximise chemical and mechanical resistance properties, so they may undergo changes in shade or yellowing under the effects of ultraviolet light, and depending on its intensity and exposure time, all the more visible the lighter the shade of the mortar.

Chemical resistance:

ARDEX R15 P is highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals. For more specific information, please contact our technical department.

Precautionary measures:

During mixing and application the following properties must be observed: ensure proper ventilation and avoid contact with eyes, nasal passages, mouth and skin. Avoid contact with hands by wearing protective gloves.

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of contact with skin, wash with soap and water (do not use solvents). Allergies may occur after prolonged contact with these products. Protect skin, eyes and face, if necessary.

After accidental spillage of any of the components, it must be absorbed with aggregate and the appropriate waste management must be carried out in accordance with current legislation.
