Quick-setting tile adhesives on quick-setting cement base for fixing porcelain stoneware, marble and low porosity materials. On vertical and horizontal surfaces. Grey colour. Exterior and interior. EN 12004 Certificate: C2 FT.

Field of application:

Can be used in interiors. On floors and walls.

Laying of: ceramic tiles, all types of stoneware and tile flooring, Catalan and terracotta tiles, vitreous and porcelain mosaics, low porosity natural stone, construction boards, e.g. plasterboard, pressed foam or mineral fibre insulation boards, lightweight boards (e.g. mortar-coated pressed foam, sandwich panel), ceiling and acoustic insulation boards.

Suitable for floors with underfloor heating.

Product description:

Powder based glue mortar with cement, fillers, synthetic materials giving flexibility and additives. When mixed with water the result is a soft mortar that hardens by hydration and drying. It is water and weather resistant in a few days. It adheres perfectly on any support, such as concrete, cement masters, anhydrite masters, plaster, plaster, plaster, masonry and similar supports, creating a firm adhesion between the different building materials.

Preparation of the substrate:

COLACEM FAST COMPACT adheres on both dry and damp substrates but these must be firm, resistant, grippy and free of separating agents.

Porous and gypsum substrates must be dry and treated with ARDEX P51 primer, diluted 1:3 with water.

Gypsum plaster and render must be applied in a single coat at least 10 mm thick and must not be felted or polished.

Non-porous substrates such as ceramics, metal, glass, varnish coatings, etc. must be primed with ARDEX P82 in interiors and in dry areas.

For exterior applications over existing tiles, the tiles must be primed with ARDEX P4.

In areas with constant dampness (bathrooms, kitchens, shower trays, etc.) or outdoors (terraces, balconies, etc.), we recommend the use of ARDEX 8+9 waterproofing membrane.

Instructions for use:

Pour clean water into a mixing container and add the COLACEM FAST COMPACT powder, stirring vigorously until a flexible, homogeneous, lump-free mortar is obtained. To improve flexibility and complete contact with the workpiece, the mortar should be stirred again before application on the substrate after a maturation time of 60 seconds.

Amount of water required for mixing:

COLACEM FAST COMPACT: 5 1/4 litres of water per 25 kg bag.

At a temperature of 20°C, the mortar is workable for about ¼ hour. Lower temperatures extend the workability time, higher temperatures shorten it.

Apply the mortar on the substrate and comb it with a notched trowel vertically. The choice of trowel depends on the surface of the substrate and the type and size of the workpiece. In the case of surfaces that have to support high loads, it is advisable to apply it using the double gluing method in order to achieve the most complete wetting possible. When laying paper-backed glass or porcelain mosaic, COLACEM FAST COMPACT should be applied in such a quantity that, when the tile is pressed into place, the mortar does not overflow from the joints. The working area should be no larger than that which will allow the pieces to be placed in a wet bed for 10 minutes.

When fixing the insulation boards, the mortar shall be applied from behind in strips or in spots.

If the boards are not porous, they should first be trowelled.

In case of doubt, carry out a test beforehand.

COLACEM FAST COMPACT should be worked at temperatures above +5°C and below +30°C.

Recommendations:

For the interior installation of water-sensitive natural stone, especially for the installation of light and translucent marble, we recommend the application of ARDEX S16 or S27W to avoid the appearance of stains on the piece.

The use of ARDEX WA or ARDEX EG8, both in adhesive and grout, is recommended when resistance to chemical components and aggressive cleaning is required, e.g.: swimming pools, spas, food industry, tanks, etc.

For laying large format pieces and natural stone on facades it is advisable to apply ARDEX X77, special flexible adhesive C2TES1.

Precautions:

Contains cement. Irritating to eyes and skin. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid any contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable protective gloves. In set state is physiologically and ecologically harmless.

GISCODE ZP1 = product containing cement, low chromate content.
