Field of application:
- Sealing of expansion and static joints in: heavy and light precast. industrial flooring.
- walls and ceilings.
- Sealing of cracks and fissures. Vertical and horizontal.
- Interior and exterior.
Product description:
ARDIFLEX is a single-component, polyurethane-based putty for sealing horizontal and vertical joints, which polymerises under the action of ambient humidity. The hardened product is a permanently flexible and elastic filler.
It adheres without priming to most substrates such as concrete, natural stone, fibre cement, wood, glass, iron, artificial stone, aluminium, zinc, vitrified surfaces, wooden carpentry.
After hardening, ARDIFLEX is resistant to water, frost and weathering and has good chemical resistance to cleaning agents, oils and diluted acids and bases.
It is supplied in grey, white and brown colours, in 600ml sausages and 310ml cartridges.
Preparation of the joint support:
The inside of the joint must be dry and clean of dust, grease or any material that prevents good adhesion.
The gasket must be of adequate section to accommodate the movement capacity indicated in the technical characteristics.
Place at the bottom of the joint a closed-cell polyethylene bead larger than the width of the joint.
bead at the bottom of the joint larger than the width of the joint to size the section. The minimum depth shall be lOmm and the maximum width shall be 35mm.
If the edges of the joint are not very porous concrete, the adhesion can be increased by pre-impregnating with PROBIJUNT DIIMPRIMACIÓN. Allow to cure for approximately one hour before sealing with ARDIFLEX.
Limitations:
Always use ARDIFLEX at ambient and/or substrate temperatures not below 5°C and always at least 3°C above the dew point.
Cannot be applied at ambient and/or substrate temperatures
above 40°C or when the ambient humidity exceeds 85%. Curing time varies according to ambient temperature and humidity.
Pre-testing is recommended to avoid staining.
Not suitable for permanent immersion or for PE, PP, Teflon, PVC or Bitumen surfaces.
Exposure to UV rays may slightly alter the colour,
this change being only aesthetic without affecting the mechanical properties of the product.
How to apply:
Before applying the putty, protect the edges of the joint with masking tape in order to avoid staining the surface.
Make a cut in the nozzle at approximately 45°, with the diameter closest to the width of the joint. Insert the sausage/cartridge into a manual or pneumatic gun.Once applied, smooth ARDIFLEX with the help of a spatula by wetting it with soapy water so that it does not stick to the tooling and then remove the protective tapes.
Consumption:
The approximate consumption of ARDIFLEX is O.130 kg per linear metre of joint with a cross-section of l xlcm. The theoretical metres that can be sealed of joint with each sausage/cartridge is calculated by dividing its volume in mi by the section in mm2 of the joint (width x depth).
Tool cleaning:
ARDIFLEX can be cleaned from tools and equipment immediately after use using a solvent such as ARDEX RTC. If the product hardens, it can only be removed mechanically.
Waste/Disposal:
Spillage of all products must be collected immediately with sand, vermiculite or other inert material and deposited in a suitable container for disposal. Waste management of these spills and empty containers should be carried out in accordance with local legislation.
For further information refer to the safety data sheet.
Storage:
The shelf life of ARDIFLEX is 12 months, in the original closed containers. Storage should be in a dry and ventilated place between +5° C and +30° C. Protection against frost and direct sunlight and heat sources is required.
