Bitusil Supremo is a bituminous mortar with slurry consistency, composed of an aggregate with selected granulometry, mineral fines and stable bituminous emulsion, modified to improve its resistance to abrasion.

Field of application:

  • Industrial and garage paving.
  • Paving of sports tracks.
  • Finishing of traffic islands and medians in civil works.
  • Sealing of open pavements or as an anti-dust treatment.
  • Indoor and outdoor use

Substrate preparation:

The substrate on which it is applied must be solid, dry and clean of dust, grease and any material that prevents good adhesion, such as paint, lime residues, plaster, adhesive residues, etc.

Before mechanical preparation, varnish, wax, grease, oil and similar contaminants must be removed. Contaminated concrete surfaces must be treated mechanically, either by sanding or diamond grinding, followed by vacuuming.

Any joints or cracks in the concrete substrate where differential movement is anticipated (e.g. expansion joints) shall be respected and suitably sealed.

Primer:

Before use on concrete, it is advisable to prime with EMULPREN (can be diluted up to 50% with water).

On asphalt substrates it can be applied directly.

Recommendations:

During application and curing, especially in confined areas, adequate ventilation must be ensured.

If at the time of application the product shows sedimentation, it must be stirred until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Limitations:

Always use BITUSIL SUPREMO at room and/or substrate temperatures not lower than 10°C.

Nor can it be applied at ambient and/or substrate temperatures above 30°C.

Application method:

Homogenise the product in the container by rolling the barrel and turning it upside down alternately.

Apply with a harrow.

Apply a second coat once the first coat is dry, usually after 24 hours.

Two coats should be applied for good resistance.

Do not apply much more than this in each coat as the surface may crack.

Consumption:

The approximate consumption of BITUSIL SUPREMO is 1-2 kg/m² per coat depending on roughness and porosity of the substrate.

Cleaning of tools:

BITUSIL SUPREMO can be cleaned from tools and equipment immediately after use using water. In case the product hardens it can only be removed by mechanical means or organic solvents.

Residues/Spills:

Spillage of any of the products must be collected immediately with sand, vermiculite or any other inert material and deposited in a suitable container for management.

Waste management of these spills and empty containers should be carried out in accordance with local legislation.

For further information refer to the safety data sheet.

Storage:

The shelf life of BITUSILSUPREMO is 6 months, in the original closed containers and in an upright position. Storage should be in a dry place between +5° C and +30° C. Protection from frost and direct sunlight and heat sources is required.

Precautions:

See safety data sheet. After drying the product is physiologically and ecologically neutral.
