Screeds - Floors

Both the subfloor and the indoor climate conditions must comply with the requirements of the current standards and technical brochures. Screeds must be permanently dry, firm, smooth and free of dirt and adhesion-preventing substances. Separating layers must be removed by appropriate mechanical measures.

Application

Repairing screed cracks: Screed cracks are widened in a wedge-shaped pattern and cleaned of dust. If the cracks are large, especially if they extend across the entire screed, additional cross-cuts and wave joints should be made at a distance of 30 - 50 cm to achieve a semi-rigid bond of the partial surfaces.

Pour component B of WAKOL PS 205 Resin in applicator into the bottle with component A. After sealing the bottle, shake vigorously for at least 15 seconds until a uniform colour tone is formed and the streaks disappear. Cut off the tip of the injection nozzle with the knife.

Pour the mixed resin in applicator into the joints and smooth the surface. Before hardening, the surface should be sprinkled with WAKOL S 28 Spreading Sand.

Bonding work: Apply WAKOL PS 205 Resin in applicator to the screed using a suitable notched trowel, taking care not to allow any build-up of adhesive. Select the notched trowel so that the back of the materials to be glued is thoroughly moistened. Immediately join the parts to be glued and press them together well. During curing, the materials to be glued must be kept in contact by fixing and pressing them together with suitable aids. For gluing work, a pasty consistency of the resin in the applicator may be desirable. In this case, allow WAKOL PS 205 Resin in the applicator to settle briefly after mixing. After a few minutes, the viscosity increases and reaches an optimum consistency for gluing work.

Important notes

Do not process below +15 °C; observe the minimum storage temperature of +10 °C. In cold climates, temper all installation materials in the heated room beforehand.

Under no circumstances should expansion joints be sealed on site.

We guarantee the consistently high quality of our products. All data are based on tests and many years of practical experience and refer to standardised conditions. The wide variety of materials used and the different conditions on construction sites, which are beyond our control, invalidate claims based on this data.

We therefore recommend carrying out sufficient tests ourselves. Please take into account the installation instructions of the flooring manufacturer, as well as the information sheets and the currently valid standards. In addition, we remain at your complete disposal should you require technical advice.
