SEIREPOX MF is a solvent-free epoxy resin, which creates a resistant and easy to clean surface.
Applicable on any flooring where a resistant and aesthetic finish is required.
It can be applied pure as a paint.
In combination with 0.6-0.7 mm quartz aggregate, SEIREPOX MF can be used to produce multi-layered, high mechanical strength screeds, 2 to 3 mm thick.
In combination with 0.3-0.4 mm quartz sand, SEIREPOX MF is applied as a self-levelling coating with high flatness.
After hardening, SEIREPOX MF is resistant to the passage of water, chemical agents, frost and weathering.
Characteristics:
- Solvent-free.
- Can be applied as a paint, multi-layer and self-levelling.
- Possibility of multiple finishes (smooth, non-slip,...).
- Can be mixed and/or sprinkled with sand.
- High physical and chemical resistance.
- Excellent adhesion.
- Easy to clean.
- Indoor and outdoor use.
Field of application:
Applicable in warehouses, car parks, hangars, industrial floors, workshops, production and processing areas, soft drinks and bottling factories, breweries, kitchens, etc.
Indoor and outdoor use.
Substrate preparation:
The substrate must be dry, hard, solid and free of laitance, grease, dust or other loose particles such as paint, lime residues, mortar, plaster, adhesive residues, etc., which may impair adhesion to the substrate.
Before mechanical preparation, varnish, wax, grease, oil and similar contaminants must be removed.
The preparation of the substrate must be carried out with specialised machinery; sanding, diamond grinding or shot blasting, using one or the other depending on the state of the substrate. Subsequently, the substrate shall be vacuumed.
Any joints or cracks in the concrete substrate where differential movement is foreseen (e.g. expansion joints) must be respected and properly sealed.
The substrate must have a tensile strength greater than 1.5 N/mm2.
Priming:
Prior to the application of SEIREPOX MF the substrates must be primed with SEIREPOX IMPRIMACIÓN or the primer from our range that best suits the substrate and application conditions.
Do not allow the primer to dry longer than indicated in the corresponding technical data sheet. Otherwise it will be necessary to sand and prime again.
For multi-layer systems the primer can be mixed with 0.4 mm aggregate in a ratio of 1:0.3-0.5 to be applied with a smooth trowel or rubber lip and then brushed on with a roller. This primer coat should be dusted to saturation with 0.6 mm aggregate. Before application of the next coat the sandblasted surface should be swept and vacuumed to remove unbonded aggregate.
Mixing:
The individual components of SEIREPOX MF should be stirred before mixing.
Mix the two components thoroughly with a low speed stirrer for a minimum of 3 minutes.
Part of the mixture can be reintroduced into the hardener container to collect any residues that may remain in the container. The mixture that has been passed through the hardener container is reintroduced into the mixing container and stirred for a further 30 seconds. This mixing process ensures the consistency of the product and that any resin remaining in either container reacts, facilitating subsequent waste management.
After mixing both components, lKg of SEIREPOX MF is workable for 30 minutes at a temperature between 18oC and 20°C.
Recommendations:
After mixing the two components of SEIREPOX MF, use it immediately. During the final shelf life of the mixture and due to its strong reactivity, a heat build-up will develop causing an abrupt decrease of the Pot-Life. The higher the amount of resin remaining in the container, the higher the heat will be.
In these cases (high temperature) do not touch the can. If fumes are generated, put the lid on without closing it and holding it by the handle, place it in a cool, well-ventilated place or outside to avoid the accumulation of fumes.
Bear in mind that higher temperatures shorten the time of use and lower temperatures lengthen it.
Limitations:
Always use SEIREPOX MF at ambient and/or substrate temperatures not below 1oC and always at a minimum of 3°C above the dew point.
It may also not be applied at ambient and/or substrate temperatures above 30°C or when the ambient humidity exceeds 85%.
If the pot-life is exceeded the mixed product loses its characteristics and must be discarded.
All SEIRE products are manufactured under strict quality controls and procedures, however, where colour consistency is essential, it is recommended that the products used are from the same batch.
Due to the epoxy nature of the product, applications may yellow if not properly protected.
Mode of application:
Painting:
Once components A and B have been mixed, the material is applied directly onto the primed substrate by short nap roller or brush.
Self-levelling:
Once components A and B have been mixed, approximately 500-700 grams of 0.3-0.4 mm quartz sand is added per kilo of mixture. The material is poured onto the primed substrate and spread with a notched trowel so that the thickness can be controlled. A spiked roller should be passed over immediately in order to facilitate the escape of air occluded under the coating, until bubbles are completely eliminated.
Multilayer:
Once mixed SEIREPDX MF should be spread without delay over the primed floor using a rubber lip, finishing the application (to remove imperfections) with a short nap roller. If 0.3-0.4 mm quartz sand is added to the mixture, this should be done with a SEIREPDX MF: quartz sand ratio of 1:0.3-0.4. The next day the sanded surface is swept and vacuumed to remove the unbonded aggregate.
This operation can be repeated as many times as necessary until the desired thickness is achieved.
The finish coat of SEIREPDX MF, applied with a short/medium nap roller, seals the surface and encapsulates the aggregate.
Under no circumstances should solvent or thinner be added.
Approximate consumption:
SEIREPDX MF Paint 0.4 Kg/m2 per coat.
SEIREPDX MF Self-Leveling 1:0.5 1.6 Kg/m2/mm
SEIREPDX MF Multilayer 1:0.4 0.5 Kg/m2 per coat
Tool cleaning:
SEIREPDX MF can be cleaned from tools and equipment immediately after use using a solvent such as ARDEX RTC. In case the product hardens it can only be removed by mechanical means.
Residues/Spills:
Spillage of any of the products must be collected immediately with sand, vermiculite or other inert material and deposited in a suitable container for disposal.
Waste management of these spills and empty containers should be carried out in accordance with local legislation.
For further information refer to the safety data sheet.
Storage:
The shelf life of SEIREPDX MF is 12 months, in the original closed containers. Storage should be in a dry place between +5° C and +30° C. Protection from frost and direct sunlight and heat sources is required.
Precautions:
Irritating to eyes and skin, depending on sensitivity. Hazardous to health if swallowed.
Harmful in contact with feet, eyes or if swallowed.
The following precautions should be observed during mixing or application: ensure adequate ventilation and avoid contact of the material with eyes, nostrils, mouth or skin. Avoid contact with hands, protecting them with gloves and protective cream if necessary. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and water (do not use solvents).
Avoid prolonged skin contact, especially those with allergic reactions to epoxy materials. Always wear gloves and eye protection, if necessary. Take care of personal hygiene after work, or during breaks in work, by always washing hands. Take care when removing gloves not to contaminate the inside of the gloves.
When working in confined areas wear suitable respiratory equipment.
In case of accidental ingestion of product, seek immediate medical attention, do not induce vomiting.
In case of accident, seek medical advice. For further information see safety data sheet.
After drying the product is physiologically and ecologically neutral.
