Description

Norma UNE EN 12002 / 12004   Marcado CE

Super flexible glue cement based on gray cement, fillers, synthetic resins and selected additives. When mixed with water, a soft mortar results that hardens by hydration and drying. It is waterproof and weather resistant in a few days. It adheres perfectly to the usual supports in construction, such as concrete, cement masses, anhydrite masses, plasters, plaster, masonry and similar supports, creating a firm adhesion between the different construction materials.

  • Certified EN 12004 C2 TE S2.
  • Based on gray cement
  • Waterproof
  • Frost resistant
  • Flexible and highly deformable
  • Laying of ceramic pieces of stoneware, porcelain stoneware, stone and natural stone tiles resistant to moisture for indoor and outdoor use.
  • Space for laying large-format, low-thickness ceramic tiles.
  • Certified according to EN12004 and EN12002 standards

Scope:

For indoors and outdoors. On floors and walls. S2 adhesive with great deformability, special for laying large-format, low-thickness ceramic tiles. For laying all types of ceramic tiles, tiles, stoneware, porcelain stoneware, vitreous mosaics and porcelain. Laying of appropriate building panels and thermal insulation boards.

Suitable for use in underfloor heating floors.

Maximum adhesive thickness in simple gluing: 8 mm.

Product description:

Powder with gray cement, fillers, synthetic resins and selected additives.

When mixed with water, a soft mortar with very high adherence and deformability results, which hardens by hydration and drying.

It is waterproof and weather resistant in a few days. It adheres perfectly to the usual supports in construction, such as concrete, cement masses, anhydrite masses, plasters, plaster, masonry and similar supports, creating a firm adhesion between the different construction materials.

Substrate preparation:

ARDEX COLAFIX 8x8 adheres to dry or wet substrates, but they must be firm, resistant to load, suitable for adhesion and free of separating agents. Gypsum-based or absorbent anhydrite substrates must be dry and must be previously sealed with ARDEX P51 primer diluted in water, 1: 3 ratio. Non-porous substrates such as ceramic, metal, glass, varnish layers, etc., must be primed with ARDEX P82 indoors and in dry areas. When applied to existing tiles, these can also be primed with ARDEX P4, as an alternative, a thin contact layer can be applied by strongly pressing the COLAFIX 8x8 adhesive itself.

In areas with humidity (bathrooms, kitchens, shower trays, etc.) or outdoors (terraces, balconies, etc.), we recommend the use of ARDEX 8 + 9 waterproofing membrane.

How to use:

Clean water is poured into a mixing container and the ARDEX COLAFIX 8x84 powder is added, stirring vigorously until a flexible, homogeneous and lump-free mortar is obtained. To improve flexibility and complete contact with the piece, the mortar must be agitated again before its application on the support.

Amount of water required for mixing:

7.25 - 8 liters of water for each 25 kg bag.

At a temperature of + 20 ° C, the mortar is workable for approximately 6 hours.

The viscosity of the mortar can be modified by increasing or decreasing the amount of water in the mix (always within the recommended limits).

Apply the mortar on the support and comb it with a vertically notched trowel. The choice of the trowel will depend on the surface of the support, the type and the size of the piece. In the case of surfaces that have to support high loads or when large-format pieces are installed, it is advisable to apply it following the double gluing method to achieve the most complete wetting possible. That is, a continuous layer of adhesive will be applied to the back of the piece with the smooth part of the trowel and with the notched trowel, adhesive will be applied to the support.

The work area should not be larger than that which allows the pieces to be placed in a humid bed for 40 minutes.

To adhere thermal or acoustic insulation plates, the adhesive is applied in strips or lumps on the back of the plates.

If the back of the plates is smooth and does not have open pores, this surface must be mechanically sanded before being glued.

In case of doubt, carry out a test first.

Work ARDEX COLAFIX 8x8 at temperatures above + 5 ° C and below + 30 ° C.

Recommendations:

For interior installation of moisture-sensitive natural stone, we recommend the use of Ardurapid technology adhesives from the ARDEX range to avoid the appearance of stains on the piece (ARDEX N23W, ARDEX S28, ARDEX S22).

In case of requiring resistance to chemical components and aggressive cleaning, eg: swimming pools, spas, food industry, tanks, etc., the use of ARDEX WA / ARDEX R12 is recommended, both in adhesive and in grouting material.

Precautions:

Contains cement. Irritating to eyes and skin. Keep out of the reach of children. Avoid any contact with the eyes and skin. In case of contact with the eyes, wash them immediately with plenty of water and consult a doctor. Put on suitable protective gloves. In the forged state it is physiologically and ecologically innocuous.

GISCODE ZP1 = product with low chromate content of cement.
