Seirepox SF250 is a two-component, glossy, 100% solids, solvent-free, low VOC, high hiding power, two-component epoxy paint for smooth or non-slip finishes that makes the coated surfaces waterproof, easy to clean and offers high mechanical, chemical and abrasion resistance, as well as being easy to maintain.

After hardening, Seirepox SF250 is impermeable to water, resistant to chemical agents, frost and weathering.

Field of application:

  • Particularly suitable for application on garage floors, warehouses, light industry and other surfaces subject to light vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Coating in the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industry.
  • Interior and exterior use.

Substrate preparation:

The substrate on which it is applied must be solid, dry and clean of dust, grease and any material that prevents good adhesion such as paint, lime residues, plaster, adhesive residues, etc.

Before mechanical preparation, varnish, wax, grease, oil and similar contaminants must be removed. Polished and/or contaminated concrete surfaces must be treated mechanically by milling and then vacuumed.

Any joints or cracks in the concrete substrate where differential movement is expected (e.g. expansion joints) must be respected and suitably sealed.

The substrate must have a tensile strength greater than 1.50 N/mm2.

Mixing:

The individual components must be stirred before mixing.

Mix the two components thoroughly with a low speed stirrer for a minimum of 3 minutes.

Part of the mixture can be reintroduced into the hardener container to collect any residues that may remain in the container. The mixture that has been passed through the hardener container is reintroduced into the mixing container and stirred for a further 30 seconds. This mixing process ensures the consistency of the product and that any resin remaining in either container reacts, facilitating subsequent waste management.

After mixing both components, 1kg of Seirepox SF250, is workable for 30 minutes at a temperature between 18ºC and 20ºC.

Recommendations:

After mixing the two components should be used immediately.

During the final period of the pot-life of the mixture and due to its strong reactivity, an increase in heat develops causing a sharp decrease in the Pot-Life. The higher the amount of resin remaining in the container, the higher the heat will be.

In these cases (high temperature) do not touch the can.

If fumes are generated, put the lid on without closing it and holding it by the handle, place it in a cool, well-ventilated place or outside, to avoid the accumulation of gases.

Limitations:

Always use Seirepox SF250 at room and/or substrate temperatures not lower than 10°C and always at least 3°C above the dew point.

Nor can it be applied at ambient and/or substrate temperatures above 30°C or when the ambient humidity exceeds 85%.

If the Pot-Life is exceeded, the mixed product loses its characteristics and must be discarded.

All SEIRE products are manufactured under strict quality controls and procedures. However, when colour consistency is essential, it is recommended that the products used are from the same batch.

Not applicable on smooth epoxy paints or coatings.

For UV resistance and to avoid yellowing, Seirepox TOP COAT FUV must be added on site following the steps and dosage recommended in its technical data sheet.

Avoid application in rainy and/or strong wind conditions.

Method of application:

Once components A and B have been mixed, the material is applied directly onto the substrate by short nap roller, brush or air-less.

The second coat is applied as soon as the first coat is sufficiently cured. This curing time varies according to the ambient temperature. (minimum 12 hours).

At no time should thinner or solvent be added.

Consumption:

Consumption is 150 to 250 g/m².

Tool cleaning:

Can be cleaned from tools and equipment immediately after use using solvents of the ARDEX RTC type. In case the product hardens it can only be removed by mechanical means.

Residues/Spills:

Spillage of any of the products must be collected immediately with sand, vermiculite or other inert material and deposited in a suitable container for management. Waste management of these spills and empty containers should be carried out in accordance with local legislation.

For further information refer to the safety data sheet.

Storage:

The useful storage period is 12 months, in the original closed containers and in an upright position. Storage should be in a dry place between +5ºC and +30ºC. Protection from frost and direct sunlight and heat sources is required.

Precautions:

Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice.

Mixing should be carried out with protective goggles and gloves. These safety precautions should also be observed when applying the product. See safety data sheet for further information. After drying the product is physiologically and ecologically neutral.

Technical data:
