Field of application:
Grey cementitious waterproofing mortar for all types of porous ceramic or cementitious substrates.
Exterior surfaces of buildings and concrete mortar. Suitable for waterproofing basements, tunnels, lift shafts, ditches and canals. Water tanks, swimming pools and basins in water treatment plants, foundations, retaining walls and planters.
Suitable for waterproofing drinking water tanks.
Properties:
Waterproofs under direct and indirect pressure.
Perfect adhesion on porous concrete and/or mortar surfaces, even when wet. Once applied, it can be used as a support for applying ceramic coatings.
Permeable to water vapour, preventing the appearance of condensation, as it allows the walls to breathe. Does not yellow or age. Prevents the appearance of efflorescence. Protects and decorates the surfaces to which it is applied. Grey and white in colour.
Instructions for use:
The surface to be painted must be firm, free of dust, loose particles, efflorescence, etc...; to guarantee good adhesion, the substrate must be completely cleaned, if necessary.
Possible irregularities, such as holes, cracks or fissures, must be previously corrected with repair mortar.
Wet the substrate until saturation, but avoid puddling.
Mix HUMISTOP N with water to the desired consistency, depending on whether it is applied by brush or trowel.
In the normal application, as paint, mix 100 parts of HUMISTOP N with 30 parts of water, obtaining a thick slurry, to be applied by brush or stiff brush. Do not spread the material excessively; leave a good layer for better waterproofing. The application shall comprise a minimum of 2 coats.
If the surface is very porous or uneven, it is advisable to apply a thinner first coat to saturate the substrate. The second coat can be applied thicker, in a putty consistency, mixing 100 parts of HUMISTOP N with only 20-25 parts of water. Trowel on a coat up to approx. 3 mm thick while the first coat is still fresh. For thicknesses greater than 3 mm apply three coats.
The previous coat must not be allowed to dry between coats, but must still be wet.
Allow at least 4 days to elapse before applying any type of coating.
Caution:
Contains cement, irritating to eyes and skin. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable gloves. Once dry, it has no physiological or ecological alterations.
