Description

Field of application:

ADI PASSIVANT is used as a preventive corrosion protection layer for reinforcement in concrete repair work.

As a bonding bridge on concrete or mortar prior to the application of ARDEX repair mortars (REP MUR F, REP MUR F MIX, REP MUR AR, ...).

Properties:

Powder mortar specially formulated to protect reinforcement from corrosion. It has a very good adhesion on steel and concrete, easy to apply with good mechanical properties.

Sprayable. Generates an excellent barrier to moisture and chlorides.

Substrate preparation:

Concrete:

The concrete substrate must be clean, sound, free of grease, oil, cement slurry, loose or poorly adhering particles.

Reinforcement:

They must be clean, free of oil, grease, rust, calamine and concrete remains. Reinforcement shall be cleaned by sandblasting, grade Sa 21/2 or by wire brush, grade St 3.

Mixing:

Mixing shall be done preferably using a low speed electric mixer, for which purpose pour into a suitable container the quantity of water required according to the consistency to be obtained, gradually add ADI PASIVANT and mix for 2-3 minutes until a homogeneous, lump-free mass is obtained, with a thick paint consistency.

Application:

As reinforcement protection:

On previously treated reinforcement, apply a coat of approx. 1 mm thick with a stiff brush or spray gun.

The second coat of the same thickness is applied after a waiting time of 4-5 hours at +20°C.

Then wait the same time before applying the repair mortar.

As a bonding bridge:

The application shall be carried out by brush or stiff-haired roller or with the aid of a suitable spray gun, on the previously prepared substrate moistened to saturation.

To ensure optimum adhesion, it is recommended that the ADI PASIVANT coating penetrates well into the substrate and also into areas of unevenness.

The best practice is to apply a first coat of ADI PASIVANT as indicated above and after hardening (4-5 h) apply a second coat.

The application of the repair mortar (REP MUR F, REP MUR F MIX, REP MUR AR, ...) is then carried out, fresh on fresh, over the surface of the concrete.

then, fresh on fresh, on top of the freshly applied layer.

Do not apply at temperatures below 5oC or above 30 ºC.

Cleaning of tools: Tools and tools should be cleaned with water immediately after use. Once hardened, it can only be removed by mechanical means.

Precautions: Contains cement, irritating to eyes and skin. Keep out of the reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical advice.

Wear suitable gloves. Once dry, it has no physiological or ecological effects.
