Description

Field of application:

Self-levelling mortar for coating, levelling and levelling substrates in interiors. Ideal for use in areas requiring low protein content and low odour (ammonia-free). ARDITEX NA can be used on almost any type of substrate, such as concrete, mortar, ceramic, adhesive residues, metal plates. Ideal for applications on ships with metal substrates, where a high adhesion is achieved.

Product description:

ARDITEX NA is a latex-based, protein-free, odourless, self-levelling mortar with high fluidity and excellent adhesion, flexibility and water resistance properties. Thanks to its special formulation, ARDITEX NA can be used under a vapour barrier, such as Ardex DPM. It is very easy to mix and trowel. It can be applied from 0 to 12 mm in a single coat and can be up to 30 mm thick by adding aggregate.

Substrate preparation:

The substrate must be resistant and clean and free of dust, grease, oils, waxes and other disintegrable elements. On absorbent surfaces, it is advisable to prime with the liquid component of ARDITEX NA (latex) diluted 1:4 in water, applied with a broom or brush, to avoid excessive absorption or too many pores appearing in the mortar.

Remains of solvent-based adhesives should also be primed as explained above.

When there is moisture in the substrate, it is recommended to use ARDEX DPM 1C (vapour barrier) over the ARDITEX NA, once it has hardened. Existing humidity in the substrate does not affect the mortar, as long as it is not applied over direct surface water.

On impermeable substrates or substrates with adhesive residues, an application of ARDITEX NA between 3 and 6 mm is required to ensure uniform curing of the new adhesive, which could interact with residues of previous adhesives or asphalt.

Before levelling wooden surfaces, the boards must be secured and firmly fixed. The differential movement between boards can be avoided by applying ARDITEX NA, in sufficient thickness, between 6 and 15 mm, depending on the strength of the covering to be laid.

In all cases, adequate ventilation must be ensured to prevent deterioration due to moisture.

Instructions for use:

The mixing ratio is 20 kg of ARDITEX NA (powder) with 4.8 kg of ARDITEX NA (liquid).

The liquid should be shaken and poured into a clean container. The powder is added little by little, continuously, while mixing, by means of a mechanical stirrer, until a homogeneous, fluid, lump-free mortar is obtained. For small applications, it is recommended to mix 3 parts powder to 1 part liquid (latex).

Once mixed, the mortar is poured onto the surface and spread with a trowel to the required thickness. It should be worked at temperatures above +5°C and below +30°C. If trowel marks are left, they can be easily smoothed out with a damp trowel or trowel when the product begins to harden, or they can be removed by sanding once it has fully hardened.

Working time at 20°C is approx. 20 min. Workable after approx. 2 hours, depending on the ambient conditions and the thickness applied. Thicknesses of 3 mm can be coated after 4 h, with non-moisture sensitive materials, and under suitable conditions.

Low temperatures lengthen hardening and drying times and high temperatures shorten them. Higher thicknesses require longer drying times.

Layer thicknesses:

ARDITEX NA can be applied from 0 to 12 mm, although it is advisable to add aggregate from 8 mm and up to 30 mm thick. Applications at greater thicknesses, with the addition of aggregate, may require re-levelling with ARDITEX NA to smooth the surface. Between consecutive coats of the product, it is advisable to prime to avoid absorption and to improve fluidity and levelling.

Adhesion on different substrates: Consult the Technical Department.
