Description

SEIREPOX IMPRIMATION is a solvent-free, flowable two-component epoxy resin with excellent wetting properties for use as a surface hardener, filler and also as a primer with SEIRE epoxy and polyurethane paints. After hardening, SEIREPOX IMPRIMATION is resistant to the passage of water, chemical agents, frost and weathering.

Consumption:

The approximate consumption of SEIREPOX IMPRIMACIÓN CERÁMICA is 200 to 300 gr/m2.

Preparation of the substrate:

The substrate must be dry, hard, solid and free of grout, grease, dust or other loose particles such as paint, release agents, remains of lime, mortar, plaster, adhesive residues, etc., which may impair adhesion to the substrate. Before mechanical preparation, varnish, wax, grease, oil and similar contaminants must be removed.

The preparation of the substrate must be carried out with specialised machinery; sanding, milling or grinding, using one or the other depending on the state of the substrate. Subsequently, the substrate shall be vacuumed.

Any joints or cracks in the concrete substrate where differential movement is foreseen (e.g. expansion joints) must be respected and properly sealed.

In the case of new concrete, SEIREPOX IMPRIMACIÓN should be applied at least 28 days after the concrete has been laid. In summer and in warm areas this time may be shortened but it must always be ensured that the humidity of the substrate is less than 4% before application.

Mixing:

The individual components of SEIREPOX IMPRIMACIÓN must be stirred before mixing.

Mix the two components thoroughly with a low speed stirrer for a minimum of 3 minutes.

Part of the mixture can be reintroduced into the hardener container to collect any residues that may remain in the container. The mixture that has been passed through the hardener container is reintroduced into the mixing container and stirred for a further 30 seconds. This mixing process ensures the consistency of the product and that any resin remaining in either container reacts, facilitating subsequent waste management.

After mixing both components, 1Kg of SEIREPOX IMPRIMACIÓN, is workable for 30 minutes at a temperature between l8°C and 20°C.

Recommendations:

After mixing the two components of SEIREPOX IMPRIMACIÓN CERÁMICA, use it immediately. During the final pot-life of the mixture and due to its strong reactivity, a heat build-up will develop causing a sharp decrease of the pot-life. The higher the amount of resin remaining in the container, the higher the heat will be.

In these cases (high temperature) do not touch the can. If fumes are generated, put the lid on without closing it and holding it by the handle, place it in a cold and well ventilated place or outside, to avoid the accumulation of gases.

Bear in mind that higher temperatures shorten the time of use and lower temperatures lengthen it.

Limitations:

Always use SEIREPOX IMPRIMACIÓN CERÁMICA with ambient and/or substrate temperatures not lower than lODC and always at least 3°C above the dew point.

Nor can it be applied at ambient and/or substrate temperatures above 30°C or when the ambient humidity exceeds 85%. If the pot-life is exceeded the mixed product loses its characteristics and must be discarded.
